April 16, 1926:   "Ed Gowan of Chiloquin has recently purchased two lots of the Oregon Utility Co., and will soon erect a new building at this place, 32 x 70, and will install a general line of merchandise."   (The Evening Herald)

April 23, 1926:   "Ed. Gowan has sold his interest in the Klamath Supply company and has purchased a couple of lots at Sprague River on which he is erecting a fine store building preparatory to entering the grocery business in this section.  Mr. Gowan's many friends here regret that he is leaving here but wish him much success in his new field."  (The Chiloquin Review)

May 2, 1926:   "Ed Gowan, who is connected with the Klamath Supply company of Chiloquin, is building here."   (The Klamath News)

May 6, 1926:   "Ed Gowan has his basement completed and is ready to start building his store and residence."   (The Evening Herald)

May 14, 1926:   "The excavating for the new store building for Mr. Gowans is about completed."   (The Chiloquin Review)

May 21, 1926:   Ed Gowan was in from Sprague river Thursday.  He reports that work on his new store building is progressing satisfactorily.  He expects to move into his new home during the coming week."   (The Chiloquin Review)

July 2, 1926:   "Ed Gowan was in from Sprague River Monday evening where he recently embarked in the grocery and general merchandise business.  He reports business as brisk and better than he anticipated."   (The Chiloquin Review)

July 30, 1926:   "Ed Gowan, genial merchant of Sprague River, purchased a safe from the Klamath supply company recently.  The safe was formerly used by the local store but recently has been stored.  It was installed during the week-end."   (The Chiloquin Review)

September 24, 1926:   "Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Gowan of Sprague River were visitors in Chiloquin Sunday.  Mr. Gowan conducts a general merchandise store in the new town of Sprague River located at the terminal of the O. C. and E."   (The Chiloquin Review)

April 10, 1927:   "Our popular merchant, E. Gowan, received a carload of grain via the Strahorn Tuesday.  He is now prepared to supply all in need of the commodity."   (The Klamath News)

July 8, 1928:   The deed for Block 11, lots 1 & 2 recorded at the County Clerk's office.  The lots were purchased by E.W. Gowen from Western Cities Company.   (Klamath County Clerk's Office Records)

October 19, 1928:   E. W. Gowen recorded the deed from Western Cities Company for Block 11, Lot 3.   (Klamath County Clerk's Office Records)

July 31, 1929:   "E. W. Gowan runs a neat grocery and meat shop in Sprague River."   (The Klamath News)

January 23, 1930:   "Ed Gowan, former Sprague River merchant, was a business visitor in the city Tuesday from his ranch near Bonanza.  Mr. and Mrs. Gowan have been residing on their ranch since last fall."   (The Klamath News)
