July 31, 1929:   "The Sprague River Restaurant and Bakeshop was opened July 11 by Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Rideout.  Mr. Rideout is an excellent chef and finds ready sale for his breads and pastries, while the cafe part, managed by Mrs. Rideout, is doing a good business."   (The Klamath News)

October 28, 1938:   "Mr. and Mrs. Howard Butler of Texas have opened up a lunch wagon in town."   (The Klamath News)

February 15, 1939:   Allan Prescott purchased Lot 10 Block 11 from Wolford and Wann.  The deed was recorded on this date.   (Klamath County Clerk's Office Records)

March 2, 1939:   "Mr. and Mrs. Al Prescott of the Cross Cut cafe were in Sprague River the first of the week looking after the interests of their restaurant in that city."   (The Chiloquin Review)

March 30, 1939:   "Al Prescott of the Cross Cut cafe was in Sprague River Tuesday on business connected with his restaurant there."   (The Chiloquin Review)

February 22, 1940:   "Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Buseth of Sprague River, managers of the 'Little Crosscut Cafe' there, are the proud parents of a baby daughter weighing 5 pounds and 11 ounces.  The youngest Buseth was born at the Hillside Hospital in Klamath Falls, Tuesday February 20th."   (The Chiloquin Review)

October 16, 1940:   "Harlan Buseth and his partner Ray Setty, recently from Idaho, are building a home behind the S.R. cafe and in the spring will erect a new cafe."   (The Evening Herald)

September 20, 1941:   "Harlan Buseth, owner of the Sprague River cafe, has installed a new air conditioning plant in his restaurant."   (The Evening Herald)

March 29, 1942:   "The sound of hammer and saw announces business improvement on Main street where the Sprague River cafe operated by Ray Mustoe is undergoing a complete remodeling and enlargement.  Under present plans a new building is being built around the small dining room and the old room will be almost completely done away with.

     Mustoe bought the business from Harlan Buseth several weeks ago and has waited until good weather to begin his work.  A considerable increase in business since the restaurant was built has caused an overcrowding which necessitated additional space.  The business has grown from a trailer house lunch car to a large sized modern eating house."   (The Klamath News)

April 21, 1942:   "WANTED---New or used restaurant stools.  Write or call at S.R. Cafe, Sprague River, Ore."   (The Klamath News)

June 2, 1942:    "Mrs. Ray Mustoe is back on the job at the Sprague River cafe after a siege of illness."   (Herald and News)

August 13, 1942:   "Ray Mustoe has gone to Seattle where he will be employed.  Mrs. Mustoe will remain in Klamath Falls for a time.  His mother from Klamath Falls will operate the Sprague River cafe here."   (Herald and News)

June 24, 1946:   "The Sprague River cafe, a war-time casualty, has reopened by a war veteran, Arthur 'Budge' Rolf.  He has moved into the apartment adjoining the cafe recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eaton."   (Herald and News)

February 21, 1947:   "Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shadley have sold their restaurant to Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Tarwater of Klamath Falls."   (Herald and News)

February 27, 1947:   "A deal was closed recently whereby Mr. and Mrs. Tarwater became owners of Budge's Place, a cafe recently owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shadley."   (Herald and News)
